About Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited

Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited (CKHL) is a Nepali hydropower company that owns and operates the 4.70 MW Upper Chirkhwa Hydropower Project, a run-of-river scheme in Sadananda Municipality, Bhojpur district, Koshi Province, about 175 km east of Kathmandu. The project has a design discharge of 2.35 m3/s and a powerhouse equipped with two Pelton turbine units of 2.35 MW each. The company was established in January 2009. CKHL was listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on 20 December 2023 under the Hydro Power sector. The project supplies electricity to the national grid.
