Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited (MBL) has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first commercial bank to declare a 14 percent dividend distribution for the fiscal year 2079-80.
In an official announcement today, MBL conveyed that during its 486th Board of Directors (BODs) meeting, held on the morning of 2080/05/13, they have resolved to allocate 14 percent of the net profit earned in the recently concluded FY 2079-80 as dividends, inclusive of taxes.
MBL further outlined that out of this 14 percent dividend announcement, 13.30 percent will be apportioned as bonus shares, while the remaining 0.70 percent will be set aside for tax obligations.
It’s important to note that this decision is contingent upon the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) approval and subsequent ratification at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

In their recently released fourth-quarter report for the fiscal year 2079-80, MBL revealed a nearly 10 percent increase in their Net Profits, totaling Rs. 1.85 Arba by the end of the fiscal year.
Likewise, the company disclosed having Rs. 1.56 Arba as distributable profits earmarked for its shareholders. Furthermore, the distributable earnings per share have experienced a significant surge, reaching Rs. 15.29 as of the conclusion of FY 2079-80.
