Nepal Hydro Developer Proposes 7.37% Dividend for FY 2079/80

Nepal Hydro Developers Limited (NHDL) is set to reward its shareholders with a substantial dividend for the fiscal year 2079/80. The hydropower company has proposed a noteworthy 7.37% dividend, encompassing a 7% bonus share and a 0.37% cash dividend for tax purposes.

As of the end of Ashad in 2080 BS, NHDL boasts a paid-up capital of Rs 33.59 crores. The bonus shares, valued at Rs 2.35 crores, and the cash dividend, totalling Rs 12.27 lakhs, collectively form the substantial dividend package for the shareholders. 

The dividend declaration is subject to approval at NHDL's upcoming 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Poush 12, 2080. During this pivotal meeting, shareholders can deliberate on various matters, including the proposed dividend and the company's overall performance.

This dividend marks an increment from the previous fiscal year's distribution of 5.02632%. In FY 2078/79, NHDL had allocated a 5% bonus share to its shareholders. 

To facilitate the dividend distribution and AGM proceedings, NHDL has set the book closure date for the proposed dividend and AGM on the 25th of Mangsir, 2080. Shareholders maintaining their positions until the 24th of Mangsir are entitled to receive the dividend payout and are encouraged to participate in the AGM, contributing to the democratic decision-making process within the company.
