Allegations of corruption have been filed against the Secretary of Commerce, Madhu Marasini, in connection with the National Payment Gateway case.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has submitted a formal complaint against Secretary Marasini and others, including the Chairman and Executive Director of the National Information Technology Center, in a special court on Monday.

It is alleged that the National Payment Gateway, which was purchased six years ago, has not been put into use so far, and its cost was inflated without proper prior preparations, resulting in a loss of 25 Crore rupees to the state.

Madhu Marasini also served as the former Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Other individuals implicated in the case include Sunil Paudel, former Director of the National Information Technology Center and currently the Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, Madhukumar Marasini, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, and Ramesh Prasad Pokharel, who was the former Chief of the Budget and Program Division of the Ministry of Finance and is currently the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.

The former Chief Accountant of the National Information Technology Center, Nim Bahadur Wali, the former Chief Accountant Ram Bahadur Budha, and the computer engineer Ramsharan Gayak of the National Information Technology Center are also facing allegations in this case. Madhu Marasini is currently serving as the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.
